EquineTeleseminar was born out of a desire to learn more about horses, my favorite topic, back in 2005.  I wanted to create a mastermind of sorts, in which I and my friends could explore a variety of topics about horses, learning about some aspects of horse health, horse care, riding, training and related.

I never guessed it would teach me the volume of information that I’ve since learned from it, nor that I would interview people such as Jane Savoie and Linda Tellington-Jones.  It’s been a journey of personal growth as well as one of equine exploration.

I myself have been in love with horses since I was 9 years old.  I went to summer camp that year, and when I came home at the end of the week, I started in on my poor parents.  If I couldn’t have a real horse, I could at least read everything that had ever been written about them, collect horse toys, pictures and knicknacks.  I wore cowboy boots everywhere.

We got our first pony the summer I was 12, and although we were MUCH overhorsed at the time, we kept on getting horses.. and I still have one that was a high-school graduation present – he was born just a couple days before.   Sparky has been my greatest challenge and teacher, propelling me into the world of dressage, as I say, out of sheer self-preservation.  He also taught me how to teach him a number of tricks, although he’s now old and stiff and unable to perform most of them.  He’s been my best friend and confidante.

He’s inspired me to reach for the stars, to go beyond what most people think is “reasonable” for me to aspire to – to ride in the Olympics, to actually reach the dream.
